WHAT WE DO

 Our goal for the “Fill-A-Backpack” Drive is very simple, but powerful; to help MGHS current student body to start the school year with the right tools and something to carry them in. With these in hand, they can walk out the door each morning with a sense of pride – excited about the day ahead  

The Robotics Club is now a reality at MGHS. Under the stewardship of Dean Sylvester, the club was formed in 2017.  Over the past three (3) years the club has competed in the Red Hills Robotic Competition and the FRIST Tech Challenge Competition.   

The Merl Grove High School Past Students' Association NY Chapter is committed in its partnership with Merl Grove High School in developing widely educated, highly skilled and adaptable young women to be successful citizens, who will significantly make an impact in the communities they serve – locally, nationally, and globally.   

With the upgrade of the internet infrastructure MGHS will need to upgrade its computer labs. The transition to laptop from desktops is more economical and convenient. Each lab will need 29 Laptops, 2 printers and a computer storage cart. 

The Merl Grove High School Past Students’ Association NY Chapter is on a journey to modernize and upgrade the Science Department at Merl Grove High School in Jamaica. This project will be ongoing and the success of it will be made possible through fundraising, matching funds, and your generous donations. 

From time to time the NY Chapter is called upon to participate in unscheduled projects taking place at MGHS. these requests are often last minute, which doesn’t leave ample time for fundraisers.

This year the Track & Field Team will be once again heading to Penn Relays and the Miami Classics Competition. Your help in donating to travel expenses will be greatly appreciatied.
